Mellema Quarter Horses

Welcome to Mellema Quarter Horses. Our goal is to produce horses that look and act like the horses for which the AQHA was founded. We strive to produce a horse with good feet, sufficient bone, plenty of muscle and most importantly: a balance of these qualities. Our horses will incorporate a nice looking head and a soft eye as well.

Our mares have been carefully selected paying very close attention to bloodlines and confirmation. Four exceptional horse families are a common theme in our mares: Driftwood, Lucky Blanton, Fairfax Joe, and Jody Fairfax. These stallions and their progeny speak for themselves. Our mares are descendents to these past greats through proven offspring sires such as Drifts Chip, Wyoming Blanton, Driftwood Etc, Driftwood N Drift, and Fairfax Joe Two who is a full brother to Goodbye Sam AQHA Supreme Champion. Jody Fairfax was the 1974 NCHA futurity champion stallion. And in 1982 finished third place in the NCHA open.
